Rachel's World
Who am I?
My name is Rachel Oleskow. I am a 17year old girl growing up in America. I have 2 moms, 2 dads, 4 brothers, and 8 sisters. I play guitar, love to dance, and own my own business. I love acting and so far I’ve been in 6 performances. I love to write poetry and sometimes songs. Whether or not they’re any good is up to you to decide.
Love me, hate me, this is who I am.
This is my business. I create and sell bracelets, necklaces, earrings, hair
clips, stem wear for wine glasses, and more. To obtain more information, please

Dancing
I have always loved to dance (left). I first started taking lessons during preschool but had to stop for unknown reasons. Recently, I started taking ballet and belly dance lessons. I quit taking ballet but have continued to belly dance. I am now going into my second year of lessons (advanced) and don't plan on quitting anytime soon. I enjoy Belly dance because it's a lot more "earthy" than other dances. You don't have to be super thin to do it, either. It's also great for the abs and butt. Here is a picture of my teacher (right). Her name is Christina and if you want to visit her website click here.
Acting
I love to act! As far back as I can remember, my family has always been involved
with theatre and the arts. I have been in plays since 8th grade.
Most of these plays have been directed by my mother, Susan. One play I was in,
She Stoops To Conquer, was directed by one of my favorite teachers, Miss
Scrutchings. Other plays I have been in are Mother is a Freshman,
Father's Been to Mars, Peter Pan, A Midsummer's Night Dream,
and My Fair Lady. (More pictures to come)
Poetry
Here are four poems of mine. Fell free to write and give me your opinions on them.

On The Moor
The trumpets shout and the banners fly across the windy shore. A tale such as this I tell I pray I never will again.
Two lovers who did stand between Both brought to share their love and live it time through peace. But by kings and queens who disagree are pulled apart by hate.
"Seek your own kind" Their guardians did say, "And leave the other be." But to the other was said, "I shall love only thee!"
Together they went, no word was ever said, and by daggers edge was their love shared brought to bitter end.
"The fault was yours!" Cried each other king "For it could never be mine." So sword and shield were drawn and clashed for years to come.
Most will forever say "The lovers died in vain for many a battle lost." Then they all shall weep For the love that died that day.
But love does not fall such as swords raised high. Love is no war That one can ever win or king shall ever rule.
Love is a greater thought and a greater being that few may conceive of the world should be between you and me. |
Growing Up
We grew up in this small town. It held still while the world spun round. Same damn thing every day, Till the day when we ran away
We slept deep in the grass We had a blanket of stars The sun was our lantern As we played our guitars
We wrote silly love songs, some fast, some slow. Don’t ask if it made us happy ‘Cause neither of us really know.
We clung to life desperately As the ride spun faster. We made up new songs As we faced each new disaster.
And the world spun round As our town held still. We thought about returning, But I don’t think we will.
Untitled 3
I’m loving you desperately, I’m holding you near, I’m feeling your fingers Running through my hair. The warmth of your kisses, The grace of your touch. The rhythm of your breathing, I love you so much.

Hopefully Good
"Live my dream" I said to him, "Imagine the world is not here."
"Your dream," Said he, "is no more than a dream."
"But a dream," I replied, "is an offering of hope."
"Hope means nothing. You can not eat it, or wear it, or breath it as air.
"It does not keep you warm on the lonely winter nights."
"But it may Sustain your hunger and hide your hurt, and help you live.
"It may not keep you warm and yet it may change winter to spring.
"Hope may be a foolish wish, but it is what keeps us going.
"Believing in the unbelievable. Loving those whom we are trained to hate.
"Dancing when the music has died and our partner is gone and the floor is all that's here.
"You must not give up on hope, stop your dreaming, or ever leave the floor." |
