System is
unassembled (for shipping purposes) and includes all necessary
valves, tank, grades of media, underbedding, internal distributors/strainers,
drain line flow controls, and the clock/timer/stager assembly
mounted into a control box. External piping is not included.
Customer may want to consider system additions of pressure
gauges, sample cocks, vacuum breakers, flex connectors, bypass
valves, and shut-offs etc.
Cast Iron Valve available
connections: (FPT: 1.5", 2", 2.5", 3"); (Flanged:
3", 4", 6")
Plastic Valve available
connections: (MPT: 1.5"); (Male Spigot Weld: 1.5",
2"); (Female Socket Weld: 2"); (Flanged: 2", 3")
Recommended Service Flow
Rates/Ranges are based on the sq.ft. of
the tank/filter bed. Slower flow rate per sq.ft.
= Better Filtration
5 to 10 GPM/sq.ft. = Superior filtration
(20 to 40 micron nominal) with less than 5 to 10 PSI pressure drop
10 to 15 GPM/sq.ft. = High quality filtration
(40 to 100 micron nominal) with up to 10 to 20 PSI pressure drop
15 to 20 GPM/sq.ft. = Utility filtration only
with no micron rating estimate, with up to 25 to 30 PSI pressure drop.
System Flow Rates as listed
are based on pressure drop curves of <2 PSI drop through the service
valves.
Backwash Rates for
proper bed cleaning are best achieved at 20 to 25
GPM per sq.ft. However, valve sizes, pipe sizes,
pump sizes, water availability, and unique applications,
allow backwash variation to as low as 15 GPM/sq.ft.
Backwash Rates allow
up to 5 PSI loss through the backwash valves.
Backwash Flow Restrictors are
included and can be provided to accommodate any desired
backwash flow rates.
Valve Sizes and Tank Size
Pairings for special flow rates and backwash
rates may be substituted at customer request or are
application dependent.
